The Social Media Intern will work alongside marketers, content creators, analysts, and other team members to help generate new ad creative across multiple business lines.
This role will work closely with our paid social specialist to design, produce, and test creative concepts on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad accounts, giving you hands-on experience with real ad campaigns and real performance data.
Day-to-Day
Design new ad creative concepts in Canva for testing across multiple brand’s Meta ad accounts.
Produce creative in standard ad sizes/formats for Facebook and Instagram placements.
Take creative direction and briefs from paid social specialist and turn them around quickly.
Support A/B creative testing by producing variations (different hooks, headlines, visuals) for the same concept.
Help keep a library of creative assets organized and up to date.
Stay current on ad creative trends and bring fresh ideas to the team.
Follow brand guidelines and compliance requirements for each brand's account.
Monitor competitor ad creative on Meta and flag fresh ideas or trends worth testing.
Use AI tools, within company security parameters and where appropriate, to improve efficiency, research, and quality of work.
Collaborate with marketers, writers, designers, developers, and other team members on projects.
Participate in team meetings, training, and collaborative problem-solving.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and company objectives.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, communications, design, or a related field.
Hands-on experience using Canva to design social/ad graphics.
Basic understanding of social media platforms, especially Facebook/Instagram.
Strong eye for visual design — layout, typography, color, and brand consistency.
Fast learner with the ability to pick up unfamiliar tools, systems, and processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.
Self-driven and able to make progress independently.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to figure things out.
Able to take direction, accept constructive feedback, and apply it accurately.

Bonus Qualifications
Experience with AI design tools such as Claude's design/image capabilities, Midjourney, or similar.
Exposure to Meta Ads Manager or paid social advertising.
Prior internship or coursework in digital marketing or advertising.
Experience creating content for platforms outside of Meta (TikTok, X, LinkedIn).
Interest in working within regulated or sensitive advertising verticals.

This part-time internship runs for a 4-month term, offering up to 29 hours of work per week. The position pays $15.00 per hour. Designed as a hybrid role, it includes on-site collaboration from Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility of remote work on Fridays.
